Why subscribe?
Sometimes, the world of finance is caught up in numbers. Everyone has their spreadsheets, pouring over revenue growth rates, gross margins, dollar net retention, actual vs. analyst estimates, stock based compensation, EBITDA, etc. etc. The list goes on and on.
And if everyone has access to the same data, in real-time and with packaged analysis. the difference has to be insight, perspective, and iteration. Creativity and imagination about human potential is what raw finance leaves out. We must pattern match, use our collective intuitions, and imagine what's possible.
This newsletter is solely about capitalistic selection: new initiatives, potential mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. It about which companies could possibly make bold tectonic moves that in turn move markets. The resulting step function in revenue and profits are seem obvious in retrospect the valuation of companies 5-10 years ago seem dirt cheap.
The smartest investors (in my opinion) are able to asses the caliber of a management team and the culture by which it operates, and that team’s ability:
To come up, test and launch new business adjacencies
To identify and courageously pursue transformative acquisitions (like Google buying YouTube or Facebook buying Instagram)
To execute their plans in the face of intense criticism until the world sees what they did all along
There are a few inspirations for this newsletter:

So put very simply, there is a set of fictional M&A press releases describing the strategic combination of companies that hasn’t happened yet (but certainly could?). This is an attempt to predict the potential tectonic shifts that *could* take place across the business and consumer landscapes.
